Earnings-related pension card

The earnings-related pension card entitles you to pensioner discounts when you have retired permanently. 

You can be issued an earnings-related pension card if you are on

• old-age pension
• disability pension
• years-of-service pension.

The earnings-related pension card is not issued if you are on partial early old-age pension, partial disability pension, partial cash rehabilitation benefit, cash rehabilitation benefit (i.e. fixed-term disability pension), or survivors’ pension.

Discounts with the earnings-related pension card

You are entitled to discounts from various services and products with an earnings-related pension card.

Discounts are provided by e.g. VR and Matkahuolto. Many sports facilities and cultural institutions also offer discounts.

The discounts and amounts always depend on the service provider, as there is no uniform practice. Do not hesitate to ask about possible pensioner discounts. 

The details on the earnings-related pension card are in Finnish, Swedish and English, which means that you can use the card when travelling abroad.

Plastic earnings-related pension card

We will automatically send you a plastic earnings-related pension card by post if the date of your pension decision is no later than 31 December 2025.

If your decision date is in 2026 and you would like to receive a plastic earnings-related pension card as well, please order it separately in the My Pension service under ‘Eläkkeensaajan palvelut’ > ‘Työeläkekortti’.

Lost cards

If you have retired permanently and your card is lost, you can order a replacement in the online service My Pension or by calling our Customer Service.
