The core aspect of these values is Keva's role in Finnish society: we ensure wellbeing by safeguarding the livelihood of public-sector employees during their retirement.
As Keva employees, we all undertake to comply with this Code of Conduct adopted by the Board of Directors in all our operations.

Our operations are based on the Act on Keva. Keva is a pension institute administered by its member bodies. Our core member bodies are the municipalities and the wellbeing services counties as well as limited liability companies controlled by them.
Keva has three key duties:

- We are tasked with implementing pension cover for the personnel of local government, the wellbeing services counties, the State, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Social Insurance Institution and the Bank of Finland and with offering services aiming to reduce the risk of work disability.
- We are tasked with financing the pension cover of the personnel in the employ of our member bodies and with collecting the pension contributions of the State and the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
- Our investments will help us to finance pensions in the long term.

Keva monitors compliance with international conventions (e.g. the UN Global Compact, ILO labour conventions) amongst its investees.
03 We secure pension benefits and a stable contribution level
We ensure the financing of pensions in our member bodies in a manner which safeguards the pension benefits.

Our activities have been a success if there is no need to raise the contributions for future generations.
To this end, we have established a pension liability fund whose returns will be used to keep the contributions at the current level. The Finance Planning Unit produces expert estimates on the contribution level.
The risk-based disability pension contribution included in our pension contribution encourages the employer to maintain work ability in the workplace and to find solutions for employees with partial work ability to continue working. This will reduce pension expenditure in the long term.

Information security threats change rapidly, therefore, protection measures have to evolve at the same pace.
Keva ensures that vulnerabilities are updated and repaired. We use the best observation tools. We strive to prevent breaches of information security and to recover from any breaches as quickly as possible.
We periodically practise situations involving information security issues.
Data protection is everybody’s business
At Keva, we process much personal data, i.e. data that can be associated with a specific individual. Some personal data are sensitive and confidential.
Customers and partners need to be able to trust that data relating to them are duly processed in accordance with data protection regulations.

A responsible and sustainable way of working reduces the risks involved in our operations. The goals of our responsibility work as well as plans and contribution to achieving our goals are part of the work done in units, functions and processes.
Responsibility work is managed and its results are measured with the same metrics as the achievement of other strategic objectives. The management group and the Board of Directors follow up the metrics regularly.
